  • If an invitation letter is submitted for a Touristic Visa application, it must include the inviting person's TR Identity Number, clear identity, the list of invitees, permanent address, contact number, length and purpose of stay and the affinity with the applicant must be stated in the letter. If the inviting side is an organization or a company, tax registration certificate of the organization will be required. In the invitation letter it is also required for the inviting person/authority to pledge for covering victuals and accommodation expenses and for taking their own responsibility.

What the officer assesses: Whether the money for the trip is yours or your sponsor's, is enough for the days you plan, and comes from regular income the statements show.

No valid medical insurance

All applicants are required to have a medical insurance that will be valid during their stay in Türkiye.

  • Example A: In order to enter Türkiye having a visa with 90 days “duration of stay”, foreigners should hold a travel document valid at least for an additional 60 days which totals to 150 days (90 days + 60 days) of validity at the time of entrance.

The period of stay in Turkey provided by the visa or visa exemption cannot exceed ninety days within a period of one hundred and eighty days.

What the officer assesses: Whether your past trips to Turkey kept to 90 days in any 180, whether any overstay fine is unpaid, and whether you have been banned from entering.

Nigerian and Ghanaian ordinary passport holders need a sticker visa from a Turkish embassy or consulate. Indian ordinary passport holders also need a visa, but those with a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit may get a one month e-Visa if they meet the conditions on the e-Visa site. In Nigeria, applications go through Sefa Visa, the visa company the Turkish Embassy in Abuja has named. The official pages do not publish a list of refusal reasons for visit visas. So these grounds rest on Article 15 of the Law on Foreigners and International Protection No. 6458, which lists when a visa shall be refused, and on what the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says an application must include. The English text of the law is the Presidency of Migration Management's own translation, which it marks as unofficial. No official page sets how many months of bank statements to send: the 6 months here is our own working default, not an official rule.
