Applying through the right route

Citizens of eligible countries can obtain this visa, or individuals meeting one of the following requirements: Holders of visit visas (Schengen, USA, UK). Permanent residents in the USA, EU, or the UK. Residents in one of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

What the officer assesses: Whether you used a route you can use. The quick eVisa is only for people from listed countries, or people who hold a USA, UK or Schengen visit visa, or who live in the USA, EU, UK or a Gulf country.

Ensure that all required documents are prepared in advance. This includes having a valid passport with at least 6 months of validity remaining.

Purpose of the visit

An eVisa is granted solely for tourist purposes or for the purpose of performing a umrah and it is not considered a visa for work.

What the officer assesses: Whether your plans fit a visit visa: tourism, events, seeing family or friends, or Umrah. Not work, not study and not Hajj.

KSA Visa: visit visa for Umrah

Umrah plans and the Nusuk platform

If you plan to perform Umrah, you must register with Nusuk Umrah.

What the officer assesses: Whether a trip for Umrah is booked the official way, through Nusuk or an authorised agent, outside the Hajj season, with the age and passport rules met.

Saudi Arabia does not publish a list of refusal reasons for visit visas. The grounds here come from what the official pages say an applicant must meet: the right route, enough money, a valid passport, true details, the right purpose and the laws of the Kingdom. Nigeria, Ghana and India are not on the tourist eVisa country list. People from those countries can get the eVisa or a visa on arrival only if they hold a visit visa for the USA, the UK or a Schengen country, or live in the USA, the EU or the UK as permanent residents, or live in a Gulf country. Everyone else applies on the KSA Visa platform and then goes to a visa service centre or the Saudi embassy. The tourist visa lets a Muslim visitor perform Umrah, but not Hajj. An Umrah visit visa is a separate visa, applied for through the Nusuk platform.
